1. About Suwamaga
Suwamaga is a free health information platform for Sri Lanka, providing hospital/facility directories, specialist search, clinic session listings, health articles in Sinhala and English, and a Bystander Companion matching service.
2. Not Medical Advice
All content on Suwamaga — including articles, facility listings, and specialist information — is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified physician or healthcare provider with any questions regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on this Site. In a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately.
3. Accuracy of Information
We make reasonable efforts to keep hospital, clinic, specialist, and article information accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee completeness or accuracy. Facility hours, contact details, specialist availability, and clinic schedules may change without notice. Users should verify critical details (e.g. emergency service availability) directly with the facility before relying on them.
4. Bystander Companion Service
- The Bystander Companion feature connects users with individuals who have registered and been approved through our verification process (NIC and photo submission, reviewed by an administrator).
- Suwamaga is a matching platform only. We do not employ, supervise, or guarantee the conduct, competence, or safety of any bystander companion.
- Verification at registration does not constitute an ongoing background check or certification of trustworthiness.
- Users engage bystander companions entirely at their own risk. We strongly recommend meeting in public or hospital settings, confirming identity in person, and reporting any misconduct to us immediately.
- Suwamaga disclaims all liability for any harm, loss, dispute, or damage arising from interactions between users and bystander companions.
5. User Accounts and Registration
If you register as a bystander companion or create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information
- Keep your login credentials confidential
- Notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
We reserve the right to reject, suspend, or remove any registration or account at our discretion, including for suspected misuse, fraudulent information, or violation of these Terms.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information (including for bystander registration)
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Site or its underlying systems
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Use the Site to harass, harm, or exploit others
7. Intellectual Property
All content on Suwamaga — including text, articles, graphics, and the Suwamaga name and logo — is owned by or licensed to Suwamaga, unless otherwise credited. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.
8. Third-Party Links and Facilities
Suwamaga may list or link to third-party hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, or other services. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the services, conduct, or content of these third parties.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Suwamaga and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, including but not limited to reliance on health information, facility/clinic details, or interactions arranged through the Bystander Companion service.
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Suwamaga and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Site or violation of these Terms.
11. Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site or these Terms at any time, without prior notice. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
